IMO we should wait until they have a stable government and then pull out. It will be a few years, maybe a decade, but in the end it will turn out better (for Iraq at least). But I think after the 2008 election the first thing the new president will do is pull out of Iraq.

I think the next President will probably do a little better at defining our mission in Iraq, and getting our people home...
The Muslims over there don't want America's help...let's not give it to them. Actually, I don't see that happening, because that will free Iraq up to sell their oil to China...

I think we should stay as long as needed, to prevent war, and the like. But us being there is, to a certain degree creating violence.
But, oh well we are there.... Its better for us to be there now, than to leave, and have the country in a civil war before we even sit down to lunch in America.

IMO it doesn't matter how long we're there or when we pull out. As soon as we leave, I think it's gonna go back to what it was. It won't have a dictator but it's going to be as violent as ever. And where's Bin Laden? Have we forgotten about him?

I figure we should stay there till there's a stable government, then I'm sure the Iraq-people will sell us oil dirt cheap in appreciation, thus lower gas prices, we're all happy. Sure people are dying everyday, but we are helping give more people, children, puppies a better future, I think that's worth dying for, I'd die for that.

My opinion is that more of the other rich industrialized capitalist democratic countries should join in the fight against "terror" there. I think we should be doing a LOT more ally-building in the Middle East AND in the UN personally. Regardless of the motives of big business, and the rush to pre-emptive war, we're THERE now, we deposed a tyrant. IMO it's the job of the WHOLE WORLD to bring democracy to the people of Iraq.

"I know how everyone should jts pull out, but wont ti all go to shit if the milatary did?"
That's the Iraqi people's business. I mean that in support of them, not disparagement.
A lot of people talk shit about how "we" should kill all the Muslims (in the name of Krist, no less). Fact is, "we" would not have to deal with such problems if "we" would just keep "our" noses out of their business and "our" boots off of their necks.

But also, the muslims that REALLY follow their religion are the ones who arent blowing themselves up to kill te infidels Hells yeah. Any REAL Muslim would be appalled at the idea of killing innocents, no matter WHAT they perceived the USA as in their own world-view. The Muslims who ARE doing this are being used by the POLITICAL leaders to further their own agendas. It's easier for them to make the Western world out to be the bad guys, cause we are the "infidels" after all. But I wish the Muslim citizens of the world could open their eyes to the fac t the FAULT behind why they live in poverty, why they have no rights, lies with THEIR leaders and their rich ruling class, not ours. This is what happens when the spiritual and political leaders of a country are the same people- it doesn't work. Their actions go un-checked and un-questioned by the citizens because they literally consider their rulers to be Allah's representatives on Earth. The KEY to ANY free society is the right to QUESTION and criticize the govt. This is why the flames of religious hatred are fanned. Not because they are afraid the Westernization of the world will eliminate their CULTURE (though it's not a bad point) but more they're afraid Democracy will strip them of their POWER to keep their people in an economic stranglehold of fascism which benefits only the elite. There is PLENTY of wealth in Middle East- they are NOT our "victims" in the great oil culture. That they choose to subjugate their people in order to keep their wealth to themselves in the name of Allah is a DAMN GOOD reason for us to stay in Iraq, and not stop until the POWER rests firmly in the hands of the people. America has, to say the least, proved with our own society that a Secular Democracy CAN exist and thrive without diminishing the Faith of the people. I just don't think it's the duty of America to go it alone in this fight. I think a FIRM Capitalist Democracy in the Middle East WOULD be an inspiration to the citizens of the surrounding nations to stand up and CLAIM their human rights. This would benefit the WHOLE world- so the WHOLE world should pitch in. I'm not saying WWIII I'm saying, I'm saying any rich, industrialized fat-cat nations sitting on thier haunches should put their money where their mouthes are and help us out over there. Provide Advisors, send some troops, rally political pressure on these nations which permit terrorist organizations to operate, in terms of sanctions and trade embargos. EVeryone who believes in Democracy should be helping us out. The cause is worthwhile. The IMPLEMENTATION of the cause has been one slip-shod fiasco after another though.

You're a dumbass... I say that we should leave and let them prove to us how peaceful they can be.... what would you be betting on, Phingerboard? Immediate peace without a US presence? Good luck with that.....
