I was just listening to "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs," on the train this morning, and hot damn, it's fucking good. I mean Eric Clapton and Duane Allman in the same band. What more could you ask for? I like the song "Layla" a lot of course, but it's not my favorite on that album. I think "Bell Bottom Blues," "Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad?" and "Have You Ever Loved a Woman," all PWN "Layla" but maybe that's just me.
Anyway just wanted to share that with y'all. I've listened to it before, but it's been awhile, I forgot how much it rawked. Especially when they swap solos and stuff. It's SO obvious who's playing what, but it's fun to hear what they do.
Oh and BTW- did you know they were originally going to be called "Eric and the Dynamoes" but someone misheard them, and that's how they wound up with their name? Pretty cool.
