OK, working up another variation on Autumn Leaves and having some trouble with a thang.
On a Cmaj7 I need to add a 13 to keep the melody line intact, going from this:

Trouble is, after flattening the end of my pinky to hold the 13 down, when I try to raise it back up to use just the tip of it to keep the chord down while playing the G on the high E string, it snaps up and makes a bumblefuck of the whole deal.
Anybody got any suggestions for a workaround?
