Okay I know TONS of songs. There's probably about 50 songs I can play from memory, up to prolly 100 if I sat and thought about it long enough. But they're mostly strummy acoustic songs, vocally centered, caused I learned most of 'em playing acoustic and singing in a band with some friends. A coffee-shop kinda thing. Some of 'em work well electrically too, but I need more covers for my electric band, we've been getting more offers to play, and we have PLENTY of original stuff, and can usually knock-out 10-minute versions of any of our own songs without much trouble, but I'd like to do some more covers to fill out the sets a little. Here's the covers we currently know together as a band:
Phish: "Back On The Train" Cream: "Outside Woman Blues" Stones: "Sympathy for the Devil" Grateful Dead: "Fire On The Mountain" Bob Dylan: "All Along the Watchtower"
Songs we're kinda flirting with, but need work:
Syd Barrett: "Dominoes" Pink Floyd: "Time" Velvet Underground: "Heroin" & "Sweet Jane" Phish: "Dirt" Grateful Dead: "Scarlet Begonias"
Anyway- can y'all think of some other covers that would be good for jamming on live? Don't bother mentioning Lamb of God or Children of Bodom or anything like that- cause I think we all know that's not what I'm lookin' for, lol. I don't need any more Phish or Dead either though.

David Bowie "Space Oddity" Nazareth "Whisky Drinking Woman" Pink Floyd "Have a Cigar", "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun", "Echoes(would take up a long ass time :-p)" Jethro Tull "Wind Up", "Aqualung"
Sorry having trouble comming up with things. I am also sorry if this isn't what you are looking for, just tried to think of interesting things for you to play.

Pink Floyd's "Have a Cigar" would be PERFECT. Thanks for that Fenderfloyd. I think "Echoes" is a little bit lengthy for us in a concert setting yeah. I've been thinkin' about Floyd's "Young Lust" lately too. Cool tune.

I love young lust, expecially when it starts out with just the guitar and then the drums and bass just bust in for a few measures and then the lyrics come in, really is a cool into to build up the song.

I spoke with my drummer on the phone, and apparently in this week's rhythm section practice (they live right next door to each other) they busted out a version of "Another One Bites the Dust," I can't WAIT to sink my teeth into that one!!!
