Two tunes here...one done the other...

This is the Collab...wich I have several versions of...

This one I did last night...and instead of sticking with the usual...

I put in some lite...off-kilter stuff...

Just Jammin really all it is...

This next one is done and gives a little background, for those that care...on why MY music...is the

way it is...

This one is short...but done...


There is no central theme...or repeating melody...


which will or won't please some people...most it won't...



But...that's not a concern of mine AT ALL here....



Personally, I like something new...and as long as it's...cool...and powerful to listen to, I don't care whether it has a repeating melody...is whistleable...dance friendly...what have you.



In fact if it were...then I went in a too predictable and common direction.


I don't mean that I am one of a kind...uncommon by saying that...

I'm talking about the music...not me.


As I told a friend a few days ago...

"I don't write music for people...I write it for the music itself.

If I do it well enough...people will like it anyway..."

The very being, act, and form of music...that is why I love it...



You can't please everybody...and if you try and do something...especially if you don't like what you are doing..., then you are taking something away from yourself as a person, "artist" and as a player.

To me, at my age, and experience, it's more important to me to make music I feel, think, and like, than it is to make music that pleases a crowd....

That's not to say I can't do it...

I can come up with some stuff that is generally pretty...catchy...

But what is that going to get me?

Compliments...?

I already get those...and I've come to the point to where if there is no explanation behind the compliment....I actually hate them.

If someone likes anything I write....great...but tell me why...and then I feel good.

If someone doesn't like something I write...also give me a reason...so I can think about it for a bit...and see if it has any merit.

With an attitude like that you should pick up a horn and play bebop. Probably the coolest jazz movement. All the swingers and big-band guys start playing for themselves and the music, not dancers, or popularity.

Listening to this, it reminds me of most of the other stuff you've done. Now I'm trying to understand the purpose and or goal of the music. Sounds cool, its whimsical, but it just kind of drifts, doesn't have a destition. Don't know if that's your goal, but that's what I'm hearing.

Good playing, the delay or whatever is a bit heavy for my tastes.

I liked how the chord just droned in the beginning, kind of set the mood. The note at 00:45 was perfect. Before that it just was kind of all over the place, the note choice wasn't to my liking. But after 00:45 it got better.

Now I'm at the where the drums come in. Nice sweep! I like this part, reminds me of Yngwie.

I liked this one better. Only real complaint is the way it ends- too abrupt.

Only response was that you seemed to question...or disapprove of my delay usage...

Lynch uses 200% more than I do...

What I am getting at...is it's ok...it's ok to use effects...

Not everything has to sound...cheap...

I don't think effects are bad, I just think too many kind of cloud the playing. I don't think Yngwie's effects are overboard, I know he uses delay, its just not so much that it overwhelms.

I don't think mine overwhelms...not lately...

I got some Senns the other day...and it's like night and day.

I know what's too much etc.

Hell all I ever wanted was some friggin sustain and ambiance.

Make that happen without shitty compression or phase shifters...or delay or whatever...

I'll buy 10 of them. :lol:
