I didn't freak. I kept my cool throughout that entire thread, and then apologized to LesBill at the end of it all. Then Eclectifish PMed me talking shit, so I gave it back to him. The thing is with JS there are no more than probably 40 active members, the rest post every once a month or once in their entirety. Its not that fucking difficult, I've moderated a few forums myself and as long as you have a good group of people who respect each other nothing too bad will happen. you didn't seem cool in it to me. i guess it's how i don't seem like i'm being cool now. believe me man, as much as i like JS and i do, it takes all i got to stay within the rules there. thats another reason why i'm so damn curious about this place.

Hah, I was cool, I don't really care what anyone else says. I was frustrated, but I was polite until the very end, and I even apologized to the guy. No reason for the mods to even get involved.

On the topic of forum software, I'm more a fan a vBulletin. I'd chip in some cash for web hosting if necessary. Emix, you seem like a cool guy to me. You know what you're talking about and you make a point of letting people know that, sort of like me with amps . We seemed to hang out in different parts of the forum on JS but in the few times I read the theory section I was pretty impressed. One of these days when I decide to learn some music theory instead of electronics theory it's good to know you'll be here. I helped you out with some karma . Zap, I also can see where you're coming from here. It'd be nice to have a "wide open" forum, and hopefully soon we can do that, but for now there's a few rules we can't change. Compared to JS though, there really is nothing to complain about. I hope you don't leave man, I enjoy reading your posts. -Darren

read my header at the top of every page. read my rules here and my announcement here. i know where you're coming from, Zappa, but you're not calling out. i also like you ever since i met you. on JS you posted interesting topics and it rubbed off on me. so i started posting more interesting things. but i shouldn't have to lay down the law on you or the rest of my friends from JS. rules are needed...overmoderation is not. and without rules i'm undermoderating this site. i mostly wanted my members to get the idea that this was not a mockery of JS, it was mostly going to be a small forum (under 100 members), and a lot of the rules were implied. here are some examples. - swearing is ok.....excessive swearing used harshly in an attempt to bring down my boards is not. - a girl in a swimsuit or nice clothing is ok.....a girl that is in questionable outfits, nude (or underaged), or in some kind of action with another girl is not. this goes for guys too. - if you post a pic of a guy with a joint in his hand for example...ok. but if you post about smoking weed, licking stamps, shooting heroine, promoting all this is some attempt to bring my boards down.....it's NOT ok. this is a laid back forum. it's not a mockery of JS. you're not calling me out. the rules are implied. you're not going to get banned if you break a rule. i'm just going to have to trust the mods. you will get banned if you break a rule in attempt to bring my boards down. *Edit: the only mods that can ban are me and theinsaneguitarist. and it will always be like that. the other mods have normal powers. also, i don't even care. it's the host rules. if we had our own boards, and it was ok, i wouldn't mind havign a section where you guys could post images like that. protected of course, so people of young age or people who are disturbed by it don't get exposed. i am not being called out, i'm not trying to start a war here. i created this place to have my own forum for myself, banend JS members, JS members, friends, and anyone into guitar can came to a more laid back environment with less limitations and not as many arguments. please (to everyone) try to help keep that image for my boards. *Edit: as for a future forum on a better host, just know that that is my decision for now and i am already taking care of this.

Freya what do you think about VIOLATION's suggestion about moving to a phpbb board, like the one he linked us to.
That way we could get away from these limitations, and give the board its full potential.

Freya what do you think about VIOLATION's suggestion about moving to a phpbb board, like the one he linked us to. That way we could get away from these limitations, and give the board its full potential. i have been asked/offered by half a dozen people (not joking) to switch to something else. for some reason i seem to be really popular nowadays. i am currently considering my options. these boards will not die but that doesn't mean i'm not going to move to a more professional site. just act as if this is the only place for now until i am finished with the decision. btw, have hope. when we move my boards will grow even faster than it already amazingly enough is (i didn't even expect this).

Yeah, true that, but the faster we move the faster we can get everything steady and settled.

Zappa has asked a question and Freya has responded. Zappa has not come to post anything else and I believe that this thread has run it's course. If there are no objections I'm going to lock this thread. If someone has a problem with it, let me know.
