Do I have to download em all? No, it's about 120MB download, I zipped it into a self extractor.. all you got to do is download and run the .exe in whatever directory you want... As a bragging point, I actually divided them up into alphabetical ordered files, so you don't have to try and scroll through all 49,000 songs hoping you don't miss the song you're looking for.. Kneel before zod....

Tabs at all = fail
Crutch, that makes the guitar community in general slower, sloppier, and all around worse players.

Tabs at all = fail Crutch, that makes the guitar community in general slower, sloppier, and all around worse players. Yeah, but, I don't play to be creative...I play to play other people's tunes... I'm way past the "gonna be a rockstar" phase..... Sheet music has always been beneficial, ever since it was first invented...

Playing by ear is beneficial, playing from notation, or tab is less.

Playing by ear is beneficial, playing from notation, or tab is less. \ Thats not necessarily true. With programs like GuitarPro where you can playback the song and get it down EXACTLY all while being shown where to fret it on the guitar. You can learn it much faster and accurately than if you sat down and did it, while listening to the record. With all of the layered instruments you miss a lot of the stuff- some of the subtle stuff, which is real important. Classical musicians are probably the most proficient and schooled in the world and they always use notation. Its just a better means of communicating what needs to be played. Ear training is definately important, but in my opinion, it comes WITH constantly playing and analyzing.

Let's say you want to record some of your compositions, and you are paying $800 per hour for studio usage, and triple union scale for the musicians you hired for the session. Those musicians damned well better be able to read your charts!
Just ask Steve.

I'm talking purley musical
